Steve,
Keep up the good work, regarding software to have with you when doing servicing, I always keep a keep a copy Win XP Sp2 and SP3 on a CD when doing calls. I find that most people don't even have SP3 installed on their PC's.
Also keep an updated of the following utilities:
Belarc Advisor,Everest Home Inventory edition, and Secunia PSI, which when installed when installed not only scans for missing Microsoft updates, but most other computer programs and links you to their security updates if they are available.
I keep various other Utilities on other CD's with a Flash drive as backup and refresh the utilities as needed when new versions come out.

Intead of carrying around multiple CD/DVD cases, You can get multiple slot cases like those for multi-disc DVD's.
Also using a Light scribe drive to label your CD-DVD's make your "service disks" look professional!
